Curiosity
Paved the cat's way
To the post-mortal realm
Where forgotten names
And shadows whisper
All the things the living
Don't dare let themselves
Know that they know
Some say that satisfaction
Brought the cat back
This is too false
To be a lie, because
The satisfied are dead
Or worse
All the whispered secrets
Whetted curiosity
Until it was so sharp it
Cut the path back to life
Where the cat used their
New-won knowledge to ask
Even stranger questions
