A Predator of Information

Our songs will all be silenced, but what of it? Go on singing.

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na…

I dreamed that in digging the tunnel for a subway system, construction workers uncovered an ancient chapel dedicated to Batman. This was news the world over, since the Vatican had previously decanonized Batman on the grounds that he did not exist or, at least, that there was no evidence that he had existed.

So the pope re-canonized him and appointed The Feast of St. Batman. Someone I was working with thought it was very important that younger folk be taught his Life and Moral Example through the the Catechism of Batman with questions like “Why did St. Batman refuse to kill even the most wicked of criminals but was willing to engage them in violence?” (The answer, of course was “To communicate to us the truth of God's requirement of justice against evil but his unwillingness that any should be finally lost.”)

The Chapel was quite colorful and had stained glass windows showing St. Batman (with a really silly looking halo) confronting various evildoers with the giant words like “Pow!” and “Oof!” worked into the glass.

Which means that the historical St. Batman was the Adam West version. Which makes me really happy for some reason.
